After the Newcastle loss, Ole Gunner Solskjaer made a private outburst to players about the sacking.
Manchester United have only started the rejuvenating process under Ole Gunner Solskjaer but things in the football world don’t always go smoothly. Since the beginning of the summer campaign, Manchester United performance have been from bad to worst.
The Red Devils this season have been in a poor state and the Norwegian manager deserves a good time to turn things around. After the club’s 1-0 defeat to Newcastle on Sunday at St James Park. Ole Gunner Solskjaer privately told his players that they may repent his possible sacking.
The defeat to Steve Bruce’s side means that Manchester United have just won two of their eight Premier League matches just two points above the drop zone.
United display were awful against Newcastle, managing just three shots on target throughout the entire game.
The pressure is accumulating on Solskjaer to turn things around. On the other hand, Ed Woodward is insisting that the Norwegian manager is safe and he is ready to cope up the bad results as long as the progress is made
According to the reports, Solskjaer spoke to his players about being sacked privately in the Newcastle dressing room just before the match. It was a warning to them, that they may rue playing so badly later on. Because once he’s sacked the next manager may sell them on.
Reportedly, Solskjaer have started becoming hopeless at his squad despite him backing them up publicly to turn things around.
It is believed he fears his sacking at United amidst his failure as a manager to keep his team up in the campaign and keep them running. Since the beginning, Solskjaer is aiming to transform United’s fortune and become an Old Trafford hit.
Meanwhile, Red Devils former striker Robin van Persie has slammed his former side and stated he believes Solskjaer to be struggling in charge.
Robin Van Persie in an interview stated, “You can see here’s struggling there if I’m really honest,”
And I get it if you’re the manager of Manchester United during this period of time.”
Van Persie also questioned Solskjaer’s decision to admit that he needs to “sort his player’s heads out”.
“So he’s searching for words, maybe he chose a few wrong ones there.
Because as a player, what does that mean, ‘sorting the players’ heads out’, what does that mean?
“If you’re a player you’re a little bit like, ‘my head is fine’.
“Even though you can see the players are low in confidence, he needs to find a way to reconnect again and to get their confidence high.
“As a manager, when you’re team is low in confidence get them up, when your team is too high in confidence, when they are becoming a little bit too much, you have to get them back to the middle again.
“At the moment, based on this interview, and based on what I’ve seen in the game, I’m not sure if he really knows how to find the buttons there.”
Manchester United players have seen some rejuvenation when Ole Gunner Solskjaer took charge as a manager. United was taking steps on becoming strong again. But United again returned to regression. Whether it is the players or the manager something big has to take place else United will soon wave goodbye to Premier League.
